Year 5- TT Rockstar

Our weekly times table focus this week is on our 8 and 9 times table! Get practising, we want some Rock Gods!

Weekly Times Tables

Our focus times table this week is: 9

We had lots of fun in PE last week! Take a look at these pictures to see us demonstrating teamwork, playing handball and doing gymnastics.

Congratulations to the pupils who received their bronze award for Siddal Superstar stickers last week and for out of school achievements.

Friend or Foe

This week, Year 5 have been exploring the text Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo.  Today’s session focused on David and Tucky’s dilemma (hiding two German airmen during the war) and whether they should tell the person who was looking after them or continue to keep it a secret.  Here you can see our pupils in role as they prepare a new scene for the book.

Self Sustainable Siddal

Eco council had an amazing afternoon yesterday digging up and cooking their potatoes. The children grew two types of potatoes; rocket and regional. The children also had the pleasure of picking some of the peapods that were ready.

After cooking the potatoes with Mrs. Harper our Eco warriors were given the opportunity to taste them and then kindly brought them around the school to allow other adults and children to sample their home grown produce.

Times tables

Our times table focus this week is the 8 times table. Please practise both multiplication and division facts.

Weekly Spelling Test

Our weekly spelling test will now take place on Mondays instead of Fridays. New spelling lists will be given out on Mondays at the end of the day ready for the following weeks test.

Dough Disco Day!

Year 5 had a brilliant Dough Disco Day and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were even ambushed by years 3 and 4 for a massive Dough Disco Party!

Welcome back!

Welcome to the final half term of the year 5! I hope you all had a relaxing break!
